How to capture paper-based Fingerprint Images

I am developing a solution for Fingerprint identification.  I need to convert a paper based fingerprint into a fingerprint images and then use Fingerprint SDK 2009 to extract the template. Kindly provide me with useful hints on how I can use paper-based fingerprints with Fingerprint SDK 2009. I also need to know the impliaction of the template Quality on the false rejection or false acceptance rate.

Dear customer,

You can do it, you'll have to scan your papers, save it in your computer, load the image with our application, then extract it.

The better the quality of image, the less chance of false rejection.

Thank you very much  for your response. I have used the approach you just described but the SDK is unable to extract template, but it does not work for me. My guess is that, I have not scanned the fingerprint images to the appropriate fingerprint image specifications.  Could you please tell if image features such as image hight, width, resolution etc could affect the performance of the SDK. And if this is so what values can I use to gurantee better performance. Thank you.

Dear customer,

Why it didn't work?

Images usually come from the reader with the optimal resolution, 500dpi, so this resolution is enough.

I was using very high resolution before (1000dpi). I have chaged the resolution to 500dpi and it works fine.

Thank you.
