Need clarification on license

Hi

I am intend to purchase fingerprint sdk 2009. I would like to know how the licensing works. If I develope a software based on your SDK and sell that software.. do I need to get a license for each of my customers who using the resulting software? Or is this sdk license applicable only to the installation of SDK in different computers?

Is there any limitation on number of fingerprints that can be searched with standard single developer license?

Thank You

Dear customer,

you can buy an integrator license (150+ license) and use it on each customer, then use our function "installLicense" (http://www.griaulebiometrics.com/page/pt-br/manual/fingerprint-sdk/programming-reference-guide/activex/install-license) to install the license automatically on each computer.

No, there is no limit on number of fingerprint.

If you have another doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.

Hi

When I buy visual studio.net, I can develop any number of application using that sdk, and sell the applications developed. Likewise, can't I develop application using your sdk and sell the developed applications? I am not selling the sdk, but the software I developed using your sdk?

Also, $4000 is too much for a very small company like us. Also, I don't know the fate of the application which I am intend to develop. Is there any way to get license as I need? Also, should the customer computer have internet connection to activate license?

Thanks

Dear customer,

unfortunatelly, you'll have to buy one license per computer of your customer.

You can buy one license at a time, but you'll have to change the parameter of installLicese function.

If you have another doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.

Hi

Thanks. Please tell me 2 things:

1. When you say "You can buy one license at a time" do you mean integrator license? If yes, tell me where I can buy integrator license 1 by 1 whenever I need, or less number of integrator license quantities ( like 10 at a time ). Currently, I only see a minimum of 150 integrator license in your buy section.

2. Do Secugen  FDU Hamster IV will support time & attendance like software systems?  for more than 50 users?

Thanks

Dear customer,

1- I said it to single computer. You can't buy an integrator license one at a time. If you buy an integrator license you'll have the same product key for all your user, and you can do a single declaration of installLicense function for all of your customers. But if buy a single computer license you'll have to change the parameter of the function all the time that you buy a new license.

2- http://www.griaulebiometrics.com/page/pt-br/fingerprint_sdk/supported_readers

We support Secugen FDU Hamster IV.

Thanks for the update. But unfortunately, I don't think that I can buy a 150 integrator license as of now. So, I think that I can go with a  Fingerprint SDK 2009 Single Computer - 5 license pack . This way, I can install the "application developed using this sdk" in 5 customers' machine. When I run out of licenses either I can go for another 5 license or integrator license. Whenever I buy a new license, I have to upade the parameter for that set up licenses. Am I right?

Thanks

Dear customer,

if you buy a 5 license pack you can use it with 5 customer without update your installLicense function.

When you use all of it, you can buy another pack, or integrator.

If you have another doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.

I have been following this conversation and i must admit your licencing structure had me confused as well, what I need clarified is this; if I install an integrator licence on a pc, will it still have to go on line to verify the installation licence or because it has a product key as part of its installlicence function it does not need any online verification?

Dear customer,

When your application call installLicense( ) method, the computer must be on line.

If you don't have an internet in the customer computer, you can request a license (with the MAC Address of another machine) at your account, then download the GrFingerLicenseAgreemente.txt (that you request) and put it in the customer machine.

Or you can use License Manager (http://www.griaulebiometrics.com/page/en-us/kb/using-license-manager). But in both ways you'll net to be on line.

If you have another doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.

So does that mean every time the terminal is used it must have an internet connection? if so what is the difference between the intergrator and the normal licence package? my terinals are going to be in remote locations where the internet tends not to work, how will they capture the fingerprints if it need to go online each time to verify the installation...... doesnt make sense to me!

Dear customer,

You just have to install the license one time, so you call installLicense just the first time. So you don't need to have internet connection (just the first time or use another machine to download the license).

If you have another doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.
