The Biometric Logon Server service runs on SYSTEM account, thus having system-level privileges as any other system service. |
For performance purposes, during its startup the Biometric Logon Server service fetches to memory all fingerprints stored in the Active Directory database replica of the Domain Controller. Hence the service may allocate a considerable amount of memory, but there's no noticeable memory consumption change during the normal service usage (biometric authentication operations). |
Although users' fingerprints are replicated among all Active Directory databases located in the Domain Controllers, any change in a user's fingerprint will appear to all Domain Controllers only after their synchronization. Nevertheless, such delay can be noticed only by "Fast Logon" users. |
