AFIS SDK

Editions

There are two SDK editions available: Country and State.

Using any of these editions, you will be able to develop applications using our SDK and modify the sample code to fit your needs.

Both are fully compatible and full featured. They only differ on the matching speed.

Country version is faster than the State for the same type of images.

Licensing

This library has a copy protection mechanism. This mechanism works binding the copy of Griaule AFIS to licensed hardware or to a specific license agreement text. Based on hardware information or on license agreement, Griaule generate license files to unlock the library. The way to get these files depends on what kind of license binding was bought and how.

Licensing types

Griaule AFIS has three types of bindings:

  • PC footprints: based on unique information like hard drives' and OS' serial number, a unique key is generated. This key is used to identify this system. Note that changing or formatting hard disk drive or upgrading OS can invalidate your license.
  • Network adapter MAC address: the NIC's MAC address is used as a key. The license will work in everywhere this adapter is installed.
  • License Agreement Text: A unique key is generated based on the License Agreement Text. This text can not be modified or the library will stop working. One single license can be used by an entire organization or within all copies of an application.

Licensing process

For the first two types of binding, the licensing process is done online, using Griaule License Request application. For more information, see Griaule License Request documentation. For License Agreement Text binding, the license file is generated by Griaule after the buyer provides information such as license name and licensing model. Licensing model for License Agreement binding can be:

  • Integrator Model: The buyer is allowed to supply Griaule AFIS with his/her own applications and is responsible to provide support to his clients.
  • Enterprise Model: The buyer is allowed to use Griaule AFIS in all systems he/she owns.
